General info

Shannon Erickson is a Saskatchewan-based artist whose work blends a lifelong passion for the arts with a deep appreciation for the beauty in life’s smallest details. Her journey into photography began in 2006 while living in Toronto, where she discovered the captivating world of macro photography. Today, she captures intimate, textural images using her Nikon D850 DSLR, exploring the quiet wonder of the natural world.

Rooted in both graphic design and visual storytelling, Shannon’s creative work is shaped by her love of colour, form, and rhythm—an influence drawn from her background in music and the arts. Since returning to her home province in 2017, she now lives in Yorkton with her family, where she continues to pursue her artistic vision. She is currently working on a series of images that focus on the nuances of mental health.

Through her lens, Shannon invites viewers into a meditative space—one that honors the ever-changing details of humanity and creation. Her photographs reveal extraordinary beauty in the ordinary, encouraging moments of stillness, presence, and reflection.
