Who Can Book School Shows?
Saskatchewan rural, urban, and reserve schools are all eligible to book. OSAC member arts councils are welcome to sponsor a school show or inquire about booking a community show.
Cost of School Shows?
- Artists set their performance fee to take into account the cost of touring including gas, accommodations, and food.
- Schools pay a $50.00 annual OSAC associate membership fee when they book. This fee is applied to the first show of the school year and will not be charged again on additional bookings.
- A $10.00 booking fee is added to the price of each presentation.
- Block booking helps to lower the performance fee as travel expenses are amortized over two or more weeks.
Membership Benefits!
- Students experience live music, dance, theatre, storytelling, magic, puppetry, circus arts performances and workshops.
- Study guides with classroom activities are sent to schools in advance of the performance.
- OSAC acts as the liaison between the school and the performer. OSAC looks after engaging professional performing arts from a variety of disciplines, booking confirmations, scheduling and tour routing, invoices and artist payments, criminal record checks, compiling performance information sheets, and post-performance evaluations.
- Associate membership entitles you to register for the OSAC Showcase Conference.
- A vote at the annual general meeting.
