PREPARE YOUR STAGE INTRODUCTIONS
It is always a good idea to prepare your stage notes for introducing a performer before the event. No one wants to forget a sponsor, VIP or where the artist is from while on stage. We all may feel very confident we have everything prepared in our heads, but the bright lights and your all your patrons looking up at you can allow doubt to creep into our minds! This is perfectly normal. Here is a short list of items to consider when putting your stage introduction notes together.
- Introduce yourself
- Land Acknowledgement – here is a link to help if needed Native-Land.ca | Our home on native land
- Local housekeeping items
- Thanks to your local sponsors
- Thanks to Saskatchewan Lotteries, SaskCulture and the the Department of Canadian Heritage (as well as Canada Council if requested by the artist)
- Thanks to OSAC
- Mention of next /upcoming events – both Performing and Visual if possible
- Introduce the artists as they ask to be introduced – ask them before hand
